The wedding festivities began with an intimate Haldi ceremony in Goa. In white outfits, the much-loved pair made a twinning statement. Suraj kept things simple in a white kurta combo, but it was Mouni’s attire that wowed everyone.
At her Haldi ceremony, Mouni looked stunning in an all-white traditional outfit. The Brahmastra actress complemented her simplistic and beautiful sartorial sense with a spaghetti-strapped Anarkali white kurta and Gota Patti long skirt. It was embellished with Chikankari embroidery, sequined work with heavy golden borders, and a thick Ghera. Prune, a Delhi-based company, provided the superstar bride with white floral jewellery.
Mehendi Ceremony
For her Mehendi, Mouni chose a yellow Lehenga by Payal Singhal and won everyone’s heart. Seashell embellishments and ogle-worthy cascading tassels adorned her statement blouse. The bride’s henna design, which comprised the groom’s initials, floral patterns, and Jaal motifs, was created by artist Halima Khan. Her exquisite jewellery set, which included a heavy pearl and Kundan Maang tikka and earrings, finished off her ensemble.
Royal Malayali Wedding
Nambiar and Roy honoured each other’s origins by holding two wedding ceremonies. On January 27, 2022, the bride arrived at the mandap with her group of 11 bridesmaids, including Mandira Bedi and Aashka Garodia Goble, who were all adorned in traditional Kerala Kasavu Sarees.
Bengali girl Mouni Roy looked lovely in a white Garad silk Saree, paying homage to Suraj Nambiar’s Malayali ancestry roots. Her bridal drape had a majestic look with a customary crimson and golden border. Mouni completed her bridal ensemble with rich gold temple jewellery.
Her necklace, which included a Ganesha festoon, drew a lot of attention and received a lot of appreciation on social media. She finished off her ensemble with a traditional Kamar bandh and a Gajra-studded braid. She kept her makeup subtle with a bit of drama around her eyes and pink lips. Traditional Bengali Wedding
Given that the actor is from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, the couple married according to Bengali traditions also. The Shubho Drishti ritual is depicted in photographs and videos, with the bride coming at the Mandap on a Pidhi, a wooden stool on which the bride sits as her brothers support it on three sides. She also clutched two betel leaves in her hands, attempting not to look at the groom’s face, as customary. The bride wore a stunning red Lehenga designed by Kolkata-based designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Mouni looked like a dream in her wedding attire, which was embellished with thick gold embroidery and an elaborated border.
She wore a double dupatta, one of which was carefully draped over her head as a veil. Her veil also has ‘Aayushmati Bhava’ stitched on the border, similar to Deepika Padukone and Patralekhaa’s wedding dupattas. Her look was finished by a stunning Polki and emerald jewellery combination.
