Remember 11th December 2017, when Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and India Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli tied the knot in an intimate ceremony far away from paparazzi in Tuscany Italy? The exclusive wedding surprised the country when Virat and Anushka revealed the news on social media with beautiful pictures of the ceremony. Cricket and cinema are two of India’s most popular career fields. As a result, persons in these two occupations have amassed a sizable fan base. A romance may begin anywhere, but we haven’t seen many cases of cricketers marrying Bollywood actresses in our nation. Virat and Anushka decided to enter wedlock and made their relationship official without thinking about anything. The couple went to great extents to ensure that no details of their private wedding day are leaked. Tina Tharwani, the co-founder of Mumbai-based wedding planning company, Shaadi Squad, gave Virushka’s wedding a fairytale touch.

The Engagement
The power couple’s wedding celebration began with an engagement ceremony. Anushka Sharma looked stunning in a Sabyasachi Gulkand Burgundy Velvet Saree. The drape was hand-stitched with small pearls and included zardozi and marori work. The bride completed the look with exquisite uncut jewellery from the same designer. She was accessorized with a magnificent uncut diamond and pearl necklace and studs. Puneet B Saini, Sharma’s makeup artist, created a cocktail look for her. He kept her lips nude and her eyes smoky. Kohl-rimmed eyes, crimson flowers, and now-iconic micro dot bindi completed her engagement look. In a blue suit, the groom complimented her. Virat wore a stylish blue suit and looked like the perfect gentleman. Perhaps no man other than Virat Kohli is ideally suited to wear a formal outfit with such confidence and swag as he did.
The Mehendi
The next day, the Mehendi ritual took place. The bride wore a Sabyasachi multi-hued lehenga with a flower printed top and striped lehenga skirt to match the vibrancy of the event. For her Mehendi ceremony, she desired a vibrant Boho look. Her makeup was subtle yet attractive. Anushka wore a gorgeous set of Jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection. Here Jhumkas with Iranian turquoise, tourmalines, uncut diamonds, and Japanese cultured pearls were constructed in 22k gold. Hand-woven brocade and zardosi Juttis complemented the outfit. Virat wore a classic Sabyasachi fuchsia pink textured silk Nehru jacket and a statement khadi kurta churidaar. For the outfit, a handcrafted tan leather Jutti with a zardosi crest was created.
The Wedding Of The Decade
The main wedding ceremony was staged in a deconstructed mandap with a canopy of blossoms and hung lamps with candles. During Anushka’s bridal procession from the villa to the mandap, the song ‘Din Shagna Da’ played in the background. The blush pink Sabyasachi lehenga worn by the bride was the center of attraction. The hand-embroidered lehenga took 67 karigars and 32 days to finish, according to the designer. Her wedding outfit was precisely encrusted with pink rhinestones and featured detailed lotus flowers motifs. It was meticulously hand-crafted in silk floss and with gold and silver ‘tilla’ work. The bride accessorized her alluring pale pink heavy lehenga with traditional jewellery, including a mathapatti, Chura, layered necklaces and jhumkas in jadau, pearls, and pink spinel. Baroque pearls, emeralds, tourmalines, and Iranian turquoise beads were carefully fixed into her vintage uncut diamond jewellery. With gentle smokey eyes and nude pink lips, the bride’s makeup was maintained in a romantic palette. Her wedding day updo covered in hydrangeas was the crowning perfection of her beautiful look. Her hairdresser Gabriel Georgiou chose a bun that sat just on the nape of her neck.
Kohli, who was also dressed by Mukherjee, wore an ivory raw silk sherwani that was hand-embroidered in a vintage Banarasi design with distinctive House buttons with an antique Rose silk Kota safa that complemented Anushka’s lehenga. Virat’s grooming appearance was flawless in every way. His wedding gown was extremely lovely, and he carried it with grace.
